Adawat'n Tuareg

The Tuareg, nomadic people of the Sahara known as the "blue-clad people" for their indigo turbans, are famed for their matrilineal culture and silver craftsmanship believed to be Africa’s first. Their hand-carved jewelry, blending sharp and rounded designs, carries ancient symbols meant to ward off evil and is celebrated as Africa’s twin to Indian jewelry, wearable by both men and women.
