Based on the British Army's 1940s Gurkha pants. While the more well-known pants feature a side adjuster belt for waist adjustment, these early models feature a longer front waistband for sizing. The belt features a distinctive button-fastening loop tab. The pleated marbelt, commonly found in tailored pants, and interlining provide a snug fit around the waist. The pants feature a straight, wide silhouette from the thighs to the hem.
The fabric is made of twill using 20/2 high-twist yarns both vertically and horizontally. The high-twist yarns offer a crisp, dry texture, and the wrinkle-resistant treatment (Wrinkle Magic) makes them wrinkle-resistant despite being 100% cotton. Despite being 100% cotton, the fabric has an unusually supple, wool-like drape.
